Joan Hammill

Hammill , Joan Mary Catherine.  The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor on May 30, 2020  with her loving family by her side of Joan Mary Catherine Hammill (nee Vail).  Joan was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Hammill. She was born in Charlottetown on April 26,1935.  Joan was predeceased by her parents, Percy and Loretta Vail, a brother Percy (Jr), father and mother-in- law,  Redverse and Eva Hammill and infant son Ronald.  She married her late husband Edwin in 1958 and lived on the Drummond Road, South Freetown for most of her married life.  Joan is survived by sister's Cathy and Marion.  Cherished Mother  to Michael (Colleen), Nine Mile Creek;  Patricia McKenna (George) Kinkora;  Karen Ellis (Merle), West Cape;  Larry, North River,  and Peter (Cheryl) Winsloe.  Loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Resting at Lawless Funeral Home.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, funeral arrangements to be announced at a later date.  Donations in Joan's memory, may be made to Wedgewood Manor Recreation Department or Somerset Community Playground, Kinkora.
